Welcome to the Isle of Wight Radio Controlled Car Club HELP you get started.

Q: When and where do you meet, and how often?
A:
We meet usually every other Sunday (See this page for exact dates). Members gather around 9am, with racing beginning at 10am. Racing usually ends around 1:30-2pm.

Q: How many times do you race per day?
A:
We currently have 3 qualifiers and a two-leg round, with a brief practice session before the first qualifier. Each race lasts exactly 5 minutes.

Q: What class of car do I need to race?
A:
We currently only cater for 1/10th Electric Touring Cars, with slick rubber tyres. Mini-pin tyres are strictly disallowed.

Q: What cars do you race?
A:
There's a large array of different makes and models. Ranging from HPI Pro4's, Losi XXX-S', Associated TC3's and Yokomo SD-SSG's. as well as many other models.

Q: What equipment do I need to race?
A:
To race you'll need a touring car, as well as electrical equipment to drive it  i.e. Transmitter, Receiver (Only 27mhz and 40mhz equipment is legal to use), an electronic speed controller, a servo (We sadly can't supply you with any equipment). You'll need roughly 5 batteries to participate in each round, assuming you use a battery for each race. As you first start out, you might be able to use a battery for two rounds thanks to the large capacity of modern batteries. You'll also need basic spare parts for your car, just in case you happen to break your car. Although if you're running a common car we might be able to help you.

Q: How much does it cost to race?
A:
You're required to pay a £5 fee for each race meeting, with a discount for the under 16's, but we allow new members to race 3 meetings for free at first. There's also a yearly membership fee, which costs £12 for an adult, or FREE for a junior. As well as a £13 BRCA (http://www.brca.org)  membership fee which is required. You receive 3rd party insurance from the BRCA included with this membership. We also offer discounts on family memberships.

I think the problem was some felt that there wasn't enough information on it. I would have like to have seen it closer to the pitting area with the race control screen displayed.
